Author Guidelines

Orbit invites authors to submit manuscripts that fall within the scope of the journal. Author's must use the DOCUMENT TEMPLATE for their submission. The work must be in English and spelling and usage must be consistent throughout. Authors are encouraged to write with precision, clarity and economy, using the active voice and first person wherever appropriate. Referencing should use the Harvard Style. Manuscripts can include essays, research reports and papers, review articles, case studies and short papers. Each article should be accompanied by a title page that includes: all authors’ names, institutional affiliations, award/degree details, address, telephone numbers, email addresses, abstract in English, keywords and brief biographical note about the authors. To be eligible to be included as part of the HERDC Collection articles must satisfy all current HERDC criteria including scholarly content. Research papers and some research reports may satisfy these criteria but it is unlikely that essays, short papers, review articles and case studies will be eligible. Authors should refer to the Style Guidelines. Manuscripts are submitted online via the Orbit website. A step-by-step guide to uploading you submission is available for Authors. Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of submissions. Authors will be advised by the editorial board if the paper has been accepted or rejected. The editorial board will return submissions to authors who don’t follow the guidelines.
